As one writer noted: “Is it possible that some of the most academically brilliant minds can be as spiritually literate as a grade-school dropout? Yes, it is possible, but most frightening when spiritually illiterate academics are given the power to set moral laws that are fundamentally based on corrupted and manipulated doctrine.”

Becoming a Spiritual Scientist

Williams advocates approaching spiritual development with the same rigor applied to academic pursuits:

“Let’s use this course to work at humbling our polarities between spiritual sense and book sense. Let’s not be afraid to admit our limited knowledge and experience of spiritual evolution. Let’s begin challenging ourselves spiritually as if studying for mid-terms; or better yet, for our own self-mastery doctorate.”
